SUMMARY:Digital Presentation: The Future of Uncrewed Systems
DESCRIPTION:The Royal United Services Institute of Nova Scotia extends an invitation to a presentation Thursday\, 24 September\, to hear a presentation by Commander Matthew Arthur\, Commanding Officer\, Advanced Naval Capabilities Unit\, Royal Canadian Navy\, about his unit’s work with uncrewed systems. \nUncrewed systems\, a.k.a. drones\, have gained considerable public and official attention\, whether the systems are used for reconnaissance\, surveillance\, attack\, logistics or other roles. The introduction of drones into a military service requires careful consideration\, planning and trial of production\, doctrine\, procedures\, engineering and logistics. Commander Arthur will discuss the work of the Advanced Naval Capabilities Unit with drones and what might be their future in the Royal Canadian Navy. \nThe presentation will be conducted online (via Teams). It will start at 1300 Atlantic time\, be followed by Q&A and finish by 1500 Atlantic time. \nRegistration is required. To register\, email RUSI(NS) by close-of-business Sunday\, 20 September. As the subject line for your registration email\, put: RUSI(NS) Distinguished Speaker 24 September 2026 Registration. Also indicate your unit\, association or company. If after registering your availability changes and you are no longer able to attend\, please advise RUSI(NS) as soon as possible so your spot can be re-assigned. Teams instructions will be emailed to registrants by end Monday\, 21 September. If you have not received them by end 21 September\, please check your spam folder and\, if necessary\, email RUSI(NS).
